Dr. Zab Mosenifar is among the most preeminent and knowledgeable lung specialists in the world. An admired member of the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center staff since 1979, he currently serves as Director of the Cedars-Sinai Center for Chest Diseases. Dr. Mosenifar is also a professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).

One of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center"s leading experts, Dr. Mosenifar holds current directorship posts in many lung-related areas of the organization, including Pulmonary Ambulatory Care, Respiratory Therapy Services, the Pulmonary Physiology Laboratory and the Division of Pulmonary/Critical Care Medicine. He is also Executive Vice Chairman of Cedars-Sinai"s Department of Medicine. Dr. Mosenifar is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pulmonary Diseases.

A researcher of wide reputation and investigative talent, Dr. Mosenifar is frequently awarded peer reviewed grants to pursue new discoveries for the treatment of pulmonary diseases and conditions. He was one of the principal investigators of the National Emphysema Treatment Trial (NETT).

Dr. Mosenifar is a frequent lecturer, symposium participant, and editorial consultant for leading pulmonary and medical journals. A prolific author, he has published over two hundred articles, chapters and abstracts in such prestigious publications as the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine and the Journal of Chest. Dr. Mosenifar is a member of serveral professional societies, including the American Thoracic Society, Western Association of Physicians, American Federation for Clinical Research and American Association for the Advancement of Science. He is also a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the Respiratory Care Steering Committee. He is also an American College of Physicians fellow.

Dr. Mosenifar earned his medical degree in 1973 from the University of Tehran School of Medicine, and New Jersey College Affiliated Hospitals, where he was ranked first in his graduating class. After completing an internship at Burlington County Hospital, New Jersey, he served a two-year residency in medicine at Thomas Jefferson University, Pennsylvania and completed a two-year pulmonary medicine fellowship at UCLA.
