Dr. Manouchehr Lalehzarian is a crusader for men"s health. For over two decades he has been the driving force behind a community campaign to increase Prostate Cancer
awareness in California. A recognized speaker and leader, he has promoted this subject on the radio, on television, and in the newspapers. His campaign has come to the attention of our local and state legislators, and his tireless efforts resulted in the creation of the California Prostate Cancer Program and in his being named to Chair the Governor"s Task Force on Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education in California. The United States Congress awarded him a Certificate of Congressional Recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community. The American Foundation for Urologic Disease has recognized Dr. Lalehzarian for his superior community involvement and his commitment to improve public understanding of the seriousness of prostate cancer and its various treatment options.
Dr. Lalehzarian has unselfishly given many hours of his personal time to this area of medical concern. He initiated a prostate cancer support group which meets at Kaiser Fontana but welcomes all members of the community. He has brought in the mayors of Fontana and San Bernardino as well as celebrities such as football star Lou Dawson, Colonel McCloud from the National Urologic Disease Group, as well as Dr. Judd Moul, surgeon for Bob Dole and General Schwartzkoff. He worked with Congressman Joe Baca to promote a special stamp to be issued by the U.S. Postal Service to raise funds for prostate cancer support.
A leader in the Southern California Iranian community, Dr. Lalehzarian frequently appears on the local Iranian television channel and recently filmed a 90-minute program distributed nationally via satellite. In addition, he acts as an opinion leader on many individual topics.
An outstanding urologist at Kaiser Permanente Fontana Medical Center, Dr. Lalehzarian is known as a very considerate and kind physician, well liked by his colleagues and patients.
